Accessibilities for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005 – Ontario Regulation 191/11, Integrated Accessibility Standards

Introduction
The North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre is committed to working towards full compliance with current standards of the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) Policy, Regulation 191/11 under Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) as updated and amended from time to time. In so doing, we confirm our mission to enable people, including those with disabilities, to live at home and provide quality services in a manner that respects their independence and dignity. In this multi-year accessibility plan, the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre outlines our policies, achievements, and actions aimed at improving opportunities for persons with disabilities. This plan covers the period from 2024 to 2025, at which time it will be reviewed and updated as necessary.

Statement of Commitment
The North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre (NBIFC) is dedicated to policies, practices, and procedures that align with AODA standards and will continue to make every reasonable effort to remove and prevent accessibility barriers.
In compliance with the AODA, the NBIFC wishes to make available our customer service policy:
• A person’s disability will be taken into consideration when being communicated with.
• Service animals and support persons are welcome at the NBIFC and within the facilities.
• Assisted devices are permitted for use by persons with disabilities. The NBIFC employees are also available for assistance.
• Upon request, accessible formats or communication supports will be provided or arranged for persons with disabilities.
• Notifications pertaining to service disruptions will be placed on the NBIFC website as well as posted directly within the facilities.
• All NBIFC employees have received training regarding AODA standards.
