The NBIFC was proud to host a special Women’s Wellness Day dedicated to honouring and uplifting the women in our community. The event was a heartfelt celebration of strength, self-care, and the importance of taking time for oneself, and dressing for success, even on a tight budget.
The day began with an opening with Grandmother Lorraine Liberty, who has been an important part of empoering local women for many years, encouraging everyone to find their gifts, learn, and keep moving forward.
From there, women were invited to sign up for a variety of wellness services designed to promote relaxation and healing. Options included hair and nail care, massages, reiki, detoxing foot baths, and even a fun Zumba class to get everyone moving.
Alongside these services, participants enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by cake, creating moments to gather, share, and connect. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, conversation, and the spirit of community, as women took time to nurture their bodies, spirits, minds and be inspired for success.
This event was created to remind women of their inherent strength and the importance of making space for personal wellness. By focusing on relaxation, self-love, and community connection, NBIFC’s Women’s Wellness Day provided a much-needed opportunity for women to recharge and celebrate themselves.
We also had a runway to showcase the use of gently used clothing in thrift stores and learned different styling tips for all body types and budgets, it was great to see!
We hope to see everyone again next year!
